The Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett, created in 1906, is the world’s oldest and most
prestigious aeronautical competition.
This world championship of long-distance gas balloon flight
brings together the best gas balloon pilots each year in a race with a simple but demanding goal:
to cover the greatest possible distance from the launch area,
without any intermediate landings.
Pilots must navigate with precision, considering air currents,
weather conditions and ballast optimization to fly as far as possible.

In 2025, the 68th edition of the Coupe Aéronautique Gordon Bennett will be held in Metz, with launch scheduled for September 5, 2025 from the famous Plateau de Frescaty.
This edition promises to be a spectacular event, drawing pilots from around the world for an endurance race combining strategy, experience and courage.
For Metz, hosting the Gordon Bennett is not only an honor, but also an opportunity to share the passion for ballooning with the public, while showcasing the region as a key destination for ballooning enthusiasts.

✨ It's a wrap! ✨
The Gordon Bennett 2025 came to a close last night with the prize-giving ceremony in the beautiful salons of Metz City Hall.
A huge thank you to the 24 teams: pilots, crew, and command centers, for giving us such a thrilling race and keeping us on the …edge of our seats!
Gratitude also goes to the officials, the organizing committee, the volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes, and of course our sponsors, without whom none of this would have been possible.
What an adventure… until next time! 🎈

La Gordon Bennett 2025 s’est clôturée hier soir avec la remise des prix dans les magnifiques salons de l’Hôtel de Ville de Metz.
Un immense merci aux 24 équipages : pilotes, équipes techniques et PC course, de nous avoir fait vibrer et de nous avoir tenus en haleine tout au long de cette course !
Merci également aux officiels, au comité d’organisation, aux bénévoles qui œuvrent souvent dans l’ombre, et bien sûr à nos sponsors, sans qui cet événement n’aurait pas pu exister.
Quelle aventure… à la prochaine ! 🎈
